Rapid Critical Metals Extends Webbs Silver System 300m South in Fresh NSW Assay Run

Rapid Critical Metals (ASX:RCM) has extended high-grade silver mineralisation more than 300 metres south of the existing resource at its wholly owned Webbs project in northern New South Wales, adding another strong batch of assays to a drilling campaign that has kept the small-cap explorer in focus through a month of surging silver prices. The result, from a 20-hole program, points to a broader mineralised corridor rather than a single lode, and comes as approvals clear the way for a third rig to join the project.

A Growing Corridor at Webbs

The standout intercept was 4 metres at 1,230 grams per tonne silver equivalent from 136 metres, sitting inside a wider 37.4 metre zone averaging 278.8g/t AgEq. A second high-grade hit, 7 metres at 641.8g/t AgEq from 75 metres, came from the main Webbs lode roughly a kilometre to the north, while a southern step-out intersection landed more than 300 metres beyond the current resource boundary. Managing director Byron Miles described the numbers as showing real width alongside exceptional grade, and said the system remains open in every direction tested. Rapid plans to fold the new assays into an updated geological and resource model.

Why It Matters for ASX Silver Investors

The news lands against a backdrop of extraordinary strength in the silver price, which has climbed toward US$70 an ounce this month in one of the sharpest rallies in years, a move covered in more detail in our recent piece on the silver price’s 20 percent August surge. Rising prices have sharpened investor appetite for exploration stories with genuine scale, and the Silver Institute expects the global market to run a sixth consecutive annual supply deficit this year, a dynamic that continues to underpin investment demand. Webbs is one of several NSW and WA silver projects drawing fresh attention in 2026, alongside West Coast Silver’s Elizabeth Hill discovery, as explorers race to define resources while conditions remain favourable.

What Comes Next

Environmental approvals are now in place for the neighbouring Webbs Consol project, and Rapid says a third drill rig is due to join the campaign within weeks, lifting the pace of work across the broader Webbs corridor into the second half of 2026. Further assays from the current program remain pending, and the company intends to test interpreted parallel lodes and extensions beyond the present resource footprint. Full technical details are available in Rapid’s ASX announcement. Investors should note the results are exploration stage only, with no resource upgrade yet confirmed and typical risks around geological continuity still to be resolved through further drilling.
